LINCOLN – Gov. Dave Heineman announced the 2010 recipients of the Governor’s Excellence in Wellness Awards. One of those receiving the honor in the Sower class is Elwood’s Tri-Basin Natural Resources District in Elwood.
The Sower category recognizes companies with excellence wellness programs. This year, 33 Nebraska workers will be honored for victorious efforts in promoting workplace wellness.
A whole of 96 workers have been recognized as the program began three years before.
Nebraska is one of merely a handful of states countrywide honoring wellness hard work of employers.
Gov. Heineman said, “These awards distinguish employers for their serious assurance to employee well-being”. “Prevention and wellness hard work in the workplace have shaped higher output, superior employee pleasure and helped control health care expenses. Wellness works each time. These programs are helping more Nebraskans lead healthier lives.”
The award was shaped to recognize Nebraska employers that have developed winning models for encouraging wellness at job.
Representatives from companies in better Nebraska will be privileged at a luncheon in Kearney scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 12, with Lincoln and Omaha businesses documented through the Work Well Luncheon in Lincoln scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 21.
Factors considered for the prize included the level of hold for the program by business leaders, assessment of employee requirements, wellness plan design, outcomes and profit, and policies supporting healthy behaviors.
Wellness programs normally provide employees with health learning, health screenings and opportunities for do exercises.
Nebraska’s place of work wellness program offers two categories. The Grower award partition honors businesses and organizations demonstrating significant development in worker health behaviors. The Sower award division recognizes workplaces with excellence wellness programs.
