Smart Communications Inc. has won an Excellence Award from Asia’s premier award-giving body on corporate social responsibility
(CSR) for its employee wellness program.“Live Smart: Healthy U, Wealthy U, Happy U” was among the 13 awardees chosen from 141 entries from 99 companies in 15 countries. The award under the Best Workplace Practices category was given at the recent 9th Asian CSR Awards held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

“We are honored that our employee wellness program was given recognition by a highly respected award-giving body. Smart believes its primary asset is its workforce. Hence, we developed Live Smart to provide a holistic and supportive work environment that considers their physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social and financial well-being,” said Annette V. Santiago, head of Smart’s Human Resource Management and Development Group.

The Excellence Award is Smart’s third from the Asian CSR Awards.In 2009, its Kabalikat sa Edukasyon was adjudged the best education program in Asia under the Improvement in Education category.
